A wall the colour of the ground
When the light stops being a problem and starts being the point.
The old city is not subtle, but it is disciplined. Mud walls, cobalt glaze, turquoise towers, and very few opinions wasted on ornament.
We sat on a step until dark and did not take many photographs. Sometimes the better archival act is restraint, which is annoying because cameras are small and temptation is not.
The chronicle keeps the route, the weather, the captions, the permissions. The writing should be allowed to remain human-sized.
